The resource program is designed for students with identified handicapping conditions which significantly impact the students’ education. Students receive a variety of services through the resource program. At the high school level, some students only need accommodations made in the regular classroom. Others need tutorial help by coming into the resource room to work on classroom assignments. Still others take classes in the resource room to replace regular education classes. Each student has an individual education plan, which is written by a team including teachers, administrators, parents, the student, and other people who are involved in the student’s education.
In plain English, the resource program is for students who have problems in school and its purpose is to help the students learn to the best of their abilities.
