INTERVIEW

Elmer and Elvira Hockelhorn, the children of Homer and Gertrude, are hospitalized for symptoms ranging from fever to vomiting, to headaches, to dizziness. A few days after the children became sick the parents started feeling ill as well. The doctors of our local hospital believe that contaminated food or drink caused their sickness. Also, they commented that a flood of people have been coming in and complaining of similar symptoms. People in the country seem more affected than those that live in town. Further investigation revealed that a majority of the people who became sick had recently eaten locally caught fish. This problem, however, is not confined to just humans. Much of the local wildlife and many domestic animals seem to have fallen sick. The cause is assumed to be the same. Local authorities are requesting that people sterilize the water and stay away from eating fish.  The Kansas Department of Health has been contacted.
